In 1981, Dan planted 6 acres of pumpkins by hand without irrigation or any pest control. With the help of Providence, and with some beginner’s luck, he raised a pretty decent crop. Our first big sale was 10,000 lbs. to a buyer in Omaha for 5 cents a pound which Dan delivered in a borrowed ancient farm truck.
We now grow 125 acres ourselves and market another 60 acres for another local grower. In 2018, we shipped pumpkins to at least 12 states.
We grow a wide range of fall decorating pumpkins and squash, everything from miniatures to unusual deco pumpkins to giant pumpkins and regular jack-o-lantern pumpkins. In 2018, we planted 36 different varieties of pumpkins and squash. We especially like growing the weird stuff and we try to have something new for our customers every year. We start shipping September 1st.
We cater to customers who want a wide variety of fall decorating items in a one-stop shop. Our customers include those who buy one bin to those who buy multiple semi-loads.
