Cheeseburger Sliders

INGREDIENTS:

SLIDERS:

  • 2 c yellow onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 T vegetable oil
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 2 T yellow mustard
  • 2 t Worchester sauce
  • 1/2 t garlic powder
  • 1/4 t black pepper
  • 12 Hawaiian sweet rolls
  • 8 slices American cheese
  • 6 oz shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 c sliced dill pickles
  • 1 T melted butter
  • 2 t white sesame seeds

BURGER SAUCE:

  • 1/2 c mayonnaise
  • 1/4 c ketchup
  • 2 T sweet pickle relish
  • 1 – 2 T yellow mustard
  • Salt and Pepper to taste

DIRECTIONS:

  • In large skillet, cook onions over high heat in oil 4-6 minutes, transfer to plate.
  • Reduce heat to medium-high, cook ground beef until cooked through.
  • Add mustard, Worchester sauce, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Cook 2 more minutes.
  • Without separating them, slice rolls in half horizontally, place in greased 9X13 dish.
  • Arrange sliced cheese over rolls, top with onions, then ground beef mixture.
  • Sprinkle with shredded cheese and pickles. Cover with top half of rolls.
  • Brush with melted butter, sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  • Cover with foil and bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes, uncover and bake 10-15 minutes.
  • Stir together sauce ingredients, adjusting to taste. Serve with sliders.
  • Variation: Top beef mixture with crispy bacon.
