Slow Cooker Apple Chicken Sandwiches

Directions:

  1. Core and dice apples, thinly slice onion; place in bottom of 6-quart slow cooker.
  2. Sprinkle with 1/2 t salt. Add 1/2 c apple cider. Sprinkle both sides of chicken with 1/2 t salt and garlic powder, nestle into apple/onion mixture.
  3. Cover, cook on HIGH for 3-5 hours or LOW for 5-7 hours or until chicken is tender and cooked through.
  4. Remove chicken, shred or dice and place back in slow cooker.
  5. Add remaining 1/4 c cider, stir. Add additional salt or cider to taste.
  6. Combine slaw ingredients, toss to combine, and let sit for at least 10 minutes. Serve over Apple Chicken on Pretzel Buns.
